This blog gives a descriptive view of the last meeting between King Richard ll and the leader of the peasant revolt Wat Tighler. In this meeting Wat tighler addresses the king and says “Brother, be of good comfort and joyful, for you shall have, in the fortnight that is to come, praise from the commons even more than you have yet had, and we shall be good companions." At this time peasants were dissatisfied with being human beast commoners with no say, the church didn’t even side with them. With corruption in their government and unequal taxations these peasants demanded just. As discussed in class social unrest may arise in a society, but these peasants were subdued to their land until they could but their own freedom.
Peasants showed how much courage they had by confronting the king in a manor of just asking if you treat us equal we will praise and no one is depraved. King Richard ll stated that he wants all he could granting the royal crown for himself only.
So the peasant then tried to stab one of the kings accompanies and fairly warned the king of their revolt.
In this unjust society the peasants wanted to seek all they could but with no help they decided to revolt against being human beast but this tactic didn’t work it just deprived them of so much more.
a modern parallel to this could be the civil rights movemnet when houndreds of depraved african americans stood up to the unjust corrupt system in america.
