The theme of the Legend of Sargon is how he was brought up and how he came from being nothing into something. Its also about how he was previsioned to be king at a young age. The background of this legend is that this story and the story of moss's birth were just about the same. In both stories Sargon and moses was born with no one knowing of the birth and they were both sent down the Nile river. Also in both stories someone picked them up from the river and raised them to be a leader.
The legend says that Sargon ruled in the years 2334 2279 B.C. Sargon ruled the whole cities in the Mediterranean to the Persian gulf. He became the first king of Akkad, with this he developed a trade system empire to create unifyed roads and a postal system. He also rose through the ranks to become king.
Line 2 about Sargon being born not knowing his father and his mother didn't have much importance. This stood out to me because one Sargon became a king with the hardships of not really having parents but overcame that. another reason is because that the story of moses happen the same way in the same order. Mose was conceived and no one knew of him until he was bring up. In line 13 it basically talked about how he served for four years of the being king. this caught my eye because the president serves for a term of four years.
Reading the legend of sargon made me think about if the story of moses or the legend of Sargon was really real or not, or if one was based of the other one. Some modern parallels that i found was on Obama because he grew up in Chicago with only his mother and he went through the ranks to become the supreme leader which is being president. Like Sargon he was just a gardener when he was growing up but he was a granted to be a king.
